Storm Warning

Commissioned by Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange
2023-24
In partnership with Sensory Trust, The Photobook Project brought together dementia-friendly Paul Nature Group and children from Newlyn Primary School to capture the experiences of coastal communities. The project provides a snapshot of what it is like to live in Mount's Bay now, through the eyes of two generations at a time of accelerated climate change.

“I’ve learnt so much from the children… one of the girls told me all about her dad’s job as a fisherman, and why he goes to certain locations around the area”

Storm Warning showcases the innovative artworks and engagement projects that seek to raise awareness of the impact of the climate crisis on coastal communities in Mount’s Bay.

The project is currently exhibited as part of the exhibition until 13th April 2024, featuring alongside: Angela YT Chan, Rebecca Chesney with Lubaina Himid, Wyrd Flora, Joey Holder, Andre Kong, Harun Morrison, Something & Son, Heloise Tunstall-Behrens, and David Watkins.
