Ellie and Rachael designed a remote and in-person intergenerational correspondence project with the Wednesday Wanderers - St. Ives based dementia-friendly walking group - and Year 10 pupils at Redruth School. Using collage, sending postcards, clay and other creative forms, the two groups connected remotely before meeting for a morning’s walk in St. Ives.
As part of the walk, they created texture rubbings and gathered sound, images and film footage as a way of capturing the environment. These were then all put into a film made by Rachael, which you can view by clicking here.
The film was screened at Tate St Ives in 2021 and as part of “Only Connect!” Conference 2022. You can read more about the project on Tate St Ives’ website.
